Background
Swan Hill Rural City Council is preparing a new Domestic Animal Management Plan and wants to hear from residents to help us determine the way we manage domestic animals in our community.
Under the Domestic Animals Act 1994, every Victorian Council is required to develop and implement a new plan every four years.
Our 2026-2029 plan will set out procedures for managing dogs and cats which will help us determine how we invest our time and resources. The plan will outline how we will support domestic animal management including the safety and well-being of the entire community and the promotion of responsible pet ownership.
