Council is currently undertaking a comprehensive review of speed zones across the municipality, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to improving road safety. This work aligns with the principles of the Victorian Government’s Towards Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate road trauma and create safer road environments for all users.

In recent months, Council has received numerous requests from community members and stakeholders seeking reduced speed limits on various local roads. These concerns are largely driven by issues such as pedestrian and road user safety, increased residential development, changes in land use, and local crash history.

This review is a proactive step to ensure our road network remains safe, accessible, and responsive to the evolving needs of our growing community.
