Council is currently undertaking a drainage study of the Swan Hill and Robinvale townships. The study aims to define local flood behaviour, identify drainage issues, assess potential mitigation options and recommend a forward works program for each town.

The study focuses on the impact of local heavy rainfall events on roads and properties, rather than inundation caused by riverine flooding from the Murray River.

The community is invited to share your experience and make suggestions for improvement of local drainage issues.

Aim of the study

  • Understand community stormwater concerns and review existing drainage issues in Swan Hill and Robinvale.
  • Develop a new flood model to identify constraints of the existing systems, evaluate impacts of future development and investigate options for improvement.
  • Develop a stormwater drainage project upgrade plan including proposed infrastructure and priority of works.
