Background
Exciting developments are coming to Riverside Park in Swan Hill!
The developments include replacing the Ten Steps, protecting the riverbank with a three tiered Retaining Wall and introducing a new Boat Mooring Platform.
This initiative is set to transform the riverfront precinct into a vibrant, inclusive destination and provide an attractive, improved and accessible way for the community and visitors to interact with the water.
These developments will be game changing for our community, attracting visitation from locals and tourists and providing an accessible place for boats to moor and enjoy the Riverside Park facilities.
Council are now in the final stages of planning the replacement of the iconic Ten Steps and retaining wall works to prevent further riverbank erosion. The addition of a mooring platform expands the opportunities for recreation craft and other water users.
An accessible gangway and floating pontoon opens up new opportunities to interact with our beautiful part of the river and compliments the other offerings in Riverside Park like the walking paths, active play zones and the skate park.
This project is being delivered in partnership with the Federal Governments Growing Regions and Disaster Recovery Funds.

Retaining Wall Works
Enhancing the riverbank on the north and south sides of the Ten Steps to prevent erosion and protect the sub-structure earth below the Steps. This will include treatment with timber, plants and rocks.
Accessible Boat Mooring
An all abilities mooring platform will be integrated approximately 40m downstream of the Ten Steps and is intended for convenient boat docking, pedestrian accessibility and water craft access.
It is proposed that the new boat mooring will provide a dedicated short stay pontoon and gangway within a location that provides the all accessible element to the precinct making it easier for all people to reach the water. The floating mooring is designed for the changing water levels in the river and supports potential future developments within Riverside Park.
